In September 2026, 55 community members built 2,550 semi-circular bunds at Tenge Block in Lekurruki Community Conservancy, with support from IMPACT, to harvest rainwater and bring degraded rangeland back to life.
On 31 July 2026, Lekurruki Community Conservancy launched the rehabilitated 300-acre Nyongoni Block, now protected by a new electric fence and semi-circular bunds that are helping indigenous grasses return.
Over 15 days, Lekurruki community members built 3,201 semicircular bunds and reseeded about 155 acres of degraded rangeland with indigenous grasses, with funding from the Laikipia Conservancies Association.
