How to Get to Tassia Lodge: Driving and Flying to Lekurruki Conservancy, Laikipia

Tassia Lodge sits on the Mukogodo escarpment in Lekurruki Conservancy, on the northern edge of Laikipia in central Kenya. Getting here is part of the adventure, and the final stretch takes you along rough murram roads through wild country. Here are your options.

Driving from Nairobi

The usual road route runs north from Nairobi to Nanyuki on the A2 (allow around four hours, depending on traffic), then continue to the lodge. From Nanyuki the drive to Tassia takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. A 4WD vehicle is essential, especially in the rainy months.

Driving from Timau

From Timau the most direct route is about 47 km via the Mukogodo Forest road, roughly 2 hours. An alternative route of about 93 km via the A2 takes around 2 hours 10 minutes. Download our step-by-step directions or the route via Borana.

Flying in

For a faster trip, charter a light aircraft to Tassia’s private airstrip (0°25’47.0″N, 37°20’20.0″E). Scheduled flights also connect Nairobi to Nanyuki, where we can help you arrange onward road transfers. Contact us before booking flights so we can coordinate your arrival.
