This page explains, in plain language, what personal information Tassia Community Lodge collects, why we collect it and how we look after it. If anything is unclear, just ask us.

Who we are

Tassia Community Lodge is owned by the community of Lekurruki Conservancy, P.O. Box 137-10400, Isiolo, Laikipia, Kenya. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website, by email, by phone or on WhatsApp.

You can reach us about privacy at reservations@lekurruki.com or manager@lekurruki.com, or on +254 112 239 705.

We follow Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019. If you are visiting from the European Union or the UK, we also respect your rights under the GDPR.

What we collect

  • Booking and contact details: your name, email address, phone number, country or residency status, travel dates, number of guests and anything you write in your message.
  • Proof of residency or citizenship: if you book at Kenyan resident or citizen rates, we will ask to see an ID or residence document.
  • Things you tell us so we can look after you: for example dietary needs, allergies or anything else you want us to know before you arrive.
  • Feedback and event sign-ups: what you share in our feedback form or when you register for an event.
  • Website data: basic information about how you use this site, such as pages visited, device type and rough location, collected through Google Analytics.

We do not store card details on this website.

Why we use it

  • To answer your questions and manage your booking.
  • To prepare for your stay and keep you safe while you are with us.
  • To meet our legal duties, such as tax and accounting records.
  • To understand how people use our website so we can make it better.
  • To send you news about the lodge, but only if you have asked us to.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We only share it when we need to:

  • With trusted services that help us run the lodge and this website, such as our email provider, our website host, Google (for analytics and spam protection on our forms) and WhatsApp, if you choose to contact us there.
  • With emergency services or the flying doctors if you need urgent help during your stay.
  • With the authorities, if the law requires it.

Cookies

This website uses a small number of cookies. Some are needed for the site to work properly. Others come from Google Analytics and Google reCAPTCHA, which help us measure visits and keep spam out of our forms. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for as long as Kenyan tax and accounting rules require. We keep other messages only for as long as we need them to help you, and then we delete them.

Keeping it safe

Only the people who need your information to look after your booking can see it. Our website uses a secure connection (HTTPS), and we take care to protect the information we hold.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Delete your information, unless we have to keep it by law.
  • Stop using your information for a particular purpose, including marketing.

Just email us and we will reply as soon as we can. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya, or to the data protection authority in your own country.

Children

Our website is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through it. Parents and guardians handle bookings for families.
