Tassia is an excellent destination throughout the year due to the watering holes around the Lekurruki Conservancy. However, the best wildlife viewing is from July to October (the long dry season) or during January and February (the short dry season) This is due to the limited water sources, which forces the wildlife to gather around the waterholes in the Lekurruki Conservancy.
Tassia offers you a chance for you to focus on “getting away” and enjoying your surroundings and magnificent wildlife! However, we understand that you may need to keep in touch. We have WiFi in the mess area but due to the remoteness of the area mobile networks are not available.
We highly recommend that all visitors to Tassia have valid travel and health insurance and that you are fit for travel.
The nearest doctor is in Nanyuki, which is a 25-minute flight away. The lodge has links with the flying doctors, and there is also space for a helicopter to land in an emergency.
Temperatures are uniform throughout the year as a result of being so close to the equator. Daytime temperatures are in the mid-twenties Celsius (seventies Fahrenheit), while it cools off considerably at night. Warm clothing for early morning game drives and chilly nights is strongly recommended. We also recommend a hat and strong sunscreen
We have 24-hour security as well as two armed scouts based at the lodge. All guests are escorted to their rooms at night as well as askaris on duty and within shouting distance through out the night.
We are always happy to arrange a cultural experience. Please get in touch for more information
Camping is allowed, for more information and prior booking, please contact Simon at manager@lekurruki.com
