Tassia Lodge
Our lodge reflects both the natural beauty and the rich cultural heritage of the Yaaku community. Designed with minimal environmental impact that blends seamlessly into the rugged wilderness of Kenya’s Lekurruki Conservancy.
With seven beautifully crafted, eco-friendly en-suite rooms, each with its own private terrace overlooking the Lengishu plains, Nesarge and Lossos hills, and our central dining area and cosy lounge featuring a rustic bar. Take a refreshing dip in our plunge pool to escape the heat.
At Tassia, we encourage guests to embrace a low-impact lifestyle during their stay, fostering deeper connections with nature and respect for the delicate ecosystems around them.

Our Food
We believe that the dining experience is an integral part of your journey, and our culinary team takes great pride in crafting exceptional dishes that not only delight your taste buds but also showcase the rich and diverse flavours of Africa. Our seasonal menu reflects this dedication by featuring a selection of traditional Kenyan cuisine and international favourites, all crafted with care and creativity. Our farm-to-table approach ensures that you enjoy the authentic taste of the region while contributing to sustainable practices. We source the finest and freshest ingredients, emphasising local produce to support nearby communities and reduce our ecological footprint.
We understand that every guest is unique and are committed to tailoring the dining experience to your preferences. Whether you have specific dietary requirements or simply crave a particular dish, our attentive staff will ensure that your dining experience is as personalised as your accommodation.

In and Around The Lodge
At Tassia, we offer more than just a stay; we provide personalised experiences that connect you deeply with nature, such as guided bush walks, cultural interactions with local communities, wildlife tracking adventures, and unforgettable picnic breakfasts.
Apart from bush walks and cultural visits that immerse you in the local landscape and traditions, our lodge offers a perfect place for groups to gather in our central dining area. For those looking to cool off after an adventurous day, take a refreshing dip in our plunge pool. It’s an ideal spot to relax while watching wildlife at the nearby watering hole or savouring a sundowner on our rooftop sundowner spot as the sun sets over the horizon. At Tassia, every moment is an opportunity to connect with nature and one another.

Due to the openness of the lodge, Tassia has a strict no children under the age of 5 years policy. Please note that wildlife can react unpredictably to children; we recommend that all children are closely supervised during their stay at Tassia.
Each room has an ensuite bathroom with a flush loo and shower. Hot water is provided by solar water heating. As water conservation is a priority, the lodge has water systems in place to minimise wastage.
Tassia offers you a chance for you to focus on “getting away” and enjoying your surroundings and magnificent wildlife! However, we understand that you may need to keep in touch. We have WiFi in the mess area but due to the remoteness of the area mobile networks are not available.
Lekurrki Conservancy is home to a variety of key wildlife species, including elephants, giraffes, lions, Grevy’s zebras, common zebras, elands, lesser and greater kudus, leopard, cheetah, wild dogs, buffaloes, and warthogs, among others, and a diversity of bird species
Conservancy fees are paid by visitors to a protected natural area, such as Lekurruki Conservancy. Our conservancy fees are used to fund the ongoing conservation and protection of the area and fund activities like wildlife protection, habitat maintenance, anti-poaching efforts, and infrastructure upkeep, essentially contributing to the preservation of the ecosystem for future generations.
Please note that proof of Kenyan residency will be required when purchasing your conservancy fees.
Tassia is an excellent destination throughout the year due to the watering holes around the Lekurruki Conservancy. However, the best wildlife viewing is from July to October (the long dry season) or during January and February (the short dry season) This is due to the limited water sources, which forces the wildlife to gather around the waterholes in the Lekurruki Conservancy.
By road: The drive takes approximately 2.5–3 hours from Nanyuki.
By Air: Alternatively, visitors can charter a flight to Tassia’s private airstrip, coordinates 0°25’47.0”N, 37°20’20.0”E, for quicker access .
We are always happy to arrange a cultural experience. Please get in touch for more information
